Used Armstrong 104
Over 75 years of production of quality and affordable flutes: that is the Armstrong family legacy. Originating in Elkhart, Indiana, the hub of woodwind production in the mid-twentieth century, the Armstrong Flute Company was greatly favoured by schools for their sturdy and reliable student model instruments. Though bought out by Conn-Selmer in the early 1980s, Armstrong flutes still retain their reputation of durability, playability, and affordability. This closed hole 104 model has silver plated keys and tubing, beryllium springs, and double-skin pads with flat key cups. The flat key cups help to prevent leaks and the beryllium springs give the instrument crisp response. The heavy plating, along with its sturdy mechanisms, make it one of the most durable student flutes around. The offset G mechanism, which is hung on a separate rod, is more ergonomic and comfortable for beginner flutists. While this flute has seen some wear with minor scratches and dents along the body and head joint, it still produces a beautiful, smooth tone. The head joint has a more progressive-style embouchure cut for easier playability throughout all registers. Its bottom adjusting mechanism is silver plated as well to ensure consistent resonance throughout the whole instrument. This excellent student model flute is perfect for a beginner and even comes with its own hard case. It has been thoroughly reviewed and worked on by our expert in-house technician to ensure that it is in good playing condition.
