1930’s FAVILLA UKULELE-
Check out this pure vintage instrument! From the 1930’s and made in New York while the country was going through the Great Depression, this Favilla Ukulele is in great condition and so is the original hardshell case. Appropriately aged (see pics), this uke has seen a lot of history, and you can own a piece of it too. This instrument is perfect for ukulele clubs and get-togethers, which are becoming more and more popular every day. Banjo tuners and Made of all mahogany, this is one cool uke!
A. Favilla & Sons were one of the major New York Ukulele makers. Brothers John (Giovanni) and Joseph opened their first music shop in the US in 1890. The family had been making instruments in Italy prior to that, and in 1884 they started the musical instrument making company, initially as Favilla Bros. The company made all sorts of chordophone including some violins. They moved around New York, tinkered with the name, (in the end it was Favilla Guitars inc.) and finally ceased production in 1973. Though famous now as a Ukulele maker only about 10% of their output was Ukuleles.
