Used Antigua Winds ProOne Professional Alto Saxophone (Vintage Gold Lacquer)

Used ProOne Professional Alto Saxophone (Vintage Gold Lacquer)</h1>Antigua Winds SKU: UA4120149

Chock-full of Features!

(The dream sax for all you techies)

The ProOne series saxophones were designed by Peter Ponzol, a former with Keilwerth saxophones.  The ProOne is Antigua’s first line of true professional-grade saxophones and boy, they certainly did not leave any stones unturned here!

Most Antigua saxes we’ve experienced tend to have a focused and centered tone, similar to what you would expect from Selmer.  The ProOne however, has a very nice broad, rich and BIG tone quality.  Seriously, this sax is like a cannon with much more to give! The sax offers great control and solid stability throughout the horn’s entire range.

Now on to the features!

The ProOne neck has a taper similar to, no surprise, Selmer’s Series III saxophones.  The neck offers very accurate intonation and great altissimo response.

The lower tone holes, D# through Bb all have soldered/rolled tone holes which really add a dark resonance to the low register.

The low C through Bb keys all have Antigua’s patented Trident key arms.  This makes adjustments super simple and ensures proper pad seating.  Just a twist of the adjustment screws and no more leak!

One of my favorite features on the ProOne is the C#-B roller connection.  As you will notice, the C# roller is connected to the top of the B key, which feels like one flat key making transitions feel seamless.  A left pinky cluster has never felt so comfortable.

My favorite feature, it really should be on all saxophones, is the G# lifting mechanism.  Similar to the key lift found on the Yanagisawa 991 series, your G# will never stick.  I’ll repeat, never!  When the G# key is pressed, a connected arm lifts up another arm connected to the top of the G# key “lifting” the key open.

The ProOne has also been fitted with a set Pisoni Pads.  Used by Selmer Paris and Yanagisawa, these pads have been regarded as the best pads in the world due to their solid feel and their ability to hold a better seat.

The sax is in excellent condition with no dings, dents or scratches.  The engraving covers the majority of the sax including the bell and bell flare, body and the neck.

The ProOne alto also comes with a light yet durable zip case with integrated backpack straps.  This sax is truly unique and a blast to play.
